about keisha

keisha janney is an individual and relational therapist focusing on work with oppressed and minoritized people. keisha also does work as an equity and inclusion consultant and trainer committed to engaging the intersections of multiple identities.

keisha is a fat, queer, disabled, neurodivergent, immigrant, woman of color. keisha is also a transracial/transnational adoptee.

keisha received a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Oregon, in addition to a certificate in Substance Abuse Prevention. After her undergraduate degree, she began working at Central Washington University as a student affairs administrator.

During her time working with students, keisha developed a passion for supporting historically underserved populations and began working at Central Michigan University as the assistant director for Multicultural Academic Student Success. Missing the Pacific Northwest, keisha returned to the University of Oregon to work with the Center for Multicultural Academic Excellence and the Office of the Dean of Students.

After working for a decade in higher education, keisha decided to pursue another career path. She returned to the University of Oregon to earn a Master of Science in Couples and Family Therapy (CFT). During her time with the CFT program, keisha was also a fellow with the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy Minority Fellowship Program.

Additionally, keisha completed advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (fundamentals, externship, core skills, and EFCT supervision) and a certificate in the Accredited Training for Adoption Competency from the Center for Adoption Support and Education. keisha is also an OBLPCT supervisor candidate.

In her spare time, keisha enjoys spending time with her two small dogs, volunteering in the community, and crafting.
